Nikola Jokić is averaging a triple-double on the court. With his 24.5 points, 11.6 rebounds and 10 assists per game, the five-time Denver Nuggets All-Star and two-time NBA MVP — who is pushing for a three-peat this season — is a lead-by-example kind of guy.

I’ve noticed this not only by what he’s been able to accomplish on the court but also by his approach to his pregame outfits. Jokić’s style isn’t discussed nearly enough.

In the week back after the All-Star break, we’ll review Jokić’s best suits from the first half of the season. He’s got plenty to choose from, so this was not easy.

Let’s get into it:

Dec. 18 vs. the Hornets

Something about the green in this suit makes me think Jokić is heading to close an extremely lucrative business deal — which wasn’t far off considering he dropped 41 points, a career-high 27 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals against the Hornets. It was just the fifth 40-27-10 game in NBA history.

Jokić kept this look slightly more casual as he wore an unbuttoned black button-down shirt and black leather loafers. My only request with these double-breasted suits is that players button the coat so we can see how it all comes together as a complete fit.

Dec. 30 vs. the Heat

This grainy brown is a unique color, but Jokić pulls it off with ease. His white shirt offsets the suit’s dark color, and his white loafers add to that contrast.

I also really love the gold buttons on the suit coat. This is an intricate detail to the fit that I can’t go without acknowledging.

Feb. 7 vs. the Timberwolves

I wouldn’t have initially expected Jokić to be someone with a Kangol in his closet, but I sure do respect it. It’s the perfect complement to his dark gray trench coat.

His pants are slightly lighter than his coat, and the black leather shoes and light-gray turtleneck help bring out the various shades in this fit.

Feb. 20 at All-Star Weekend

This is a risk for Jokić, which I’m all about in fashion. His black-and-white double-breasted suit, to me, looks to have a white base with black dots strategically scattered throughout.

Jokić plays into the black in his outfit with his turtleneck and leather shoes, which have tassels near the toe if you look close enough. It was only right to break out a look this extravagant given it was All-Star Weekend.

Walking into Ball Arena with Hall of Famer Reggie Miller certainly will help a case every time, but this look by Jokić — a potential Hall of Famer himself — deserved to be included here regardless.

His turtleneck and socks match the pinstripes in the suit. I love the thoughtfulness and ability to execute that creativity. And we can’t forget about the brown leather shoes.

Jan. 15 vs. the Magic

If I had to imagine what Jokić would wear for a night on the town in Miami, it would be this. This salmon-colored suit goes great with the cream color Jokić highlighted throughout his outfit.

To add, I can appreciate the consistent pants cuffing. You may have also noticed.

Jan. 9 vs. the Lakers

A smiling Jokić is wearing a three-piece suit (although his coat is double-breasted). Despite this type of suit being almost as dressy as it gets, Jokić’s striped button-down is left unbuttoned.

He loves his loafers, and so do I. The sheen he consistently has on them is unmatched.

Jan. 20 vs. the Pacers

Jokić hasn’t shown much color with his suits this season, so this look stands out to me. Pastel-orange suits are rare enough, and you’d be hard-pressed to find one styled with an orangish-pink floral shirt as we see here.

He rocked off-white leather loafers with gold links, socks of the same shade and cuffed pants so you couldn’t miss it all. His casually dressy aesthetic is only expounded by his silver watch peaking between the cuff of his sleeve and pants pocket. Salute to more of a vibrant fit than we’re accustomed to from Jokić.

Jan. 11 vs. the Suns

Turtlenecks are something of a theme if you haven’t noticed. Here, Jokić opted for a light-gray turtleneck to balance out his dark-gray double-breasted corduroy suit.

We once again see that he can sometimes prefer his suits without belts. And once again, notice the pant cuffs. His watches never seem to be flashy, but the timepiece hiding in his sleeve deserves a mention.

Jokić must’ve been in the holiday spirit a bit early. His burgundy and blue striped double-breasted suit has subtle color schemes that remind you this photo was taken just five days before Christmas.

Jokić has tassels swinging from his brown leather shoes. His light-colored turtleneck offers a necessary splash of brightness to balance out the dark suit. Jokić put it all together for what is my favorite suit of his from the first half of the season.
